On 16 October, our CEO Thomas Glockseisen and Carsten Weiß attended the final event of the VWS4LS project at ARENA2036 in Stuttgart. As a member of the research campus, we are proud to have contributed to the digitalisation and automation of wire harness production with our WDT machine UP150.

Since the start of the project, 9 partners have worked intensively on implementing the administration shell as a digital twin to enable end-to-end digitalisation and standardised data exchange in the production process. The focus was on the development of solutions for wire harness production, which were demonstrated along various use cases.

Our UP150 played a key role in the Industry 4.0 initiative by being used for the production of wire harnesses, thus contributing to automation and increased efficiency. The project impressively demonstrates how the administration shell works in practice and the opportunities offered by digitalisation in the automotive industry.
